Great Ad 10: The Greatest Wonder of the Sea is that It’s Still Alive.
Today is 15 October 2007 and it is Blog Action Day. Blog Action Day was inspired by the belief in the unity of humanity.

On October 15th, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind – the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future.
Blog Action Day acts as a non-profit organization with a revolving group of bloggers planning and organizing it each year, with Collis Ta’eed, Leo Babauta and Cyan Ta’eed leading the campaign. More than 15,000 blogs have signed up and that includes the very influential Official Google Blog and YouTube Blog.
I’m just continuing my belief in conservation and preservation here. Some of you might have seen my earlier post on Forest-Woods-Tree-Death which talked about the demise of trees due to gross deforestation. Today, I’ll like to share this ad conceptualized by Lowe AG from Switzerland
What did I select this ad for Blog Action Day?
I grimaced at seeing garbage on the beach. I frowned when I see even more floating on the sea. It’s amazing that the oceans and the seas are still alive.
Attract Attention: Instead a school of food fishes swimming pass, we see lines of plastic bottles. How did bottles landed in sea? We are the culprit; we dumped them. We are polluting the sea with our garbage! The fishes are choked with pollution and thereby cannot survive the ordeal.
Easy to Understand: The copy, “The greatest wonder of the sea is that it’s still alive. Come on board: www.oceans.greenpeace.org“, is simple, direct, leave nothing to confusion or imagination. With so much garbage choking the live out of the sea, it’s amazing that we still have tuna and salmon on our platters. The down side of this copy is it will lead the cynical ones to smear “so we need not do anything”.
Strong Endorsement: At one time, we are afraid of the sea because of the lurking sea monsters, giant squid, man-eating octopus and other fearful, unseen creatures. Now, the sea is afraid of humans. Until we do something to stop polluting the sea, we are going to lose the sights and sounds of the wonders of the sea as well as those delicious seafood that goes into our tummies.
